108 Inch Quilt Backing Fabric

Every 108 inch quilt backing fabric we stock sits on this page. Each one is a true 108 inches wide, which means a queen or king quilt can be backed without joining two or three widths of standard fabric down the middle.

The maths is what wins most quilters over. Two and a half yards of 108 inch backing gives you the same coverage as roughly six yards of 45 inch fabric, with no piecing, no seam to press open, and no ridge for a longarm foot to catch on. Everything here is sold in 3-yard packages, which finish at 108 by 108 inches. That backs a top of up to about 100 by 100 inches with a four inch margin all round, or about 92 by 92 inches with the eight inch longarm margin. Longer queen and king tops need three and a half to four yards or more.

The range is 100% cotton unless a listing says otherwise, and it covers plain and marbled tonals, blenders, digitally printed florals and watercolours, star and geometric prints, patriotic designs and a growing flannel selection.
