Digitally printed quilt backing carries far more detail and colour than a screen print can manage, and on a 108 inch wide back that detail runs edge to edge with no repeat break down the middle of the quilt.

These are the ranges where the backing is worth showing: soft watercolour washes, blended ombres, painterly florals and shaded tonals that shift gradually across the width. Many quilters use these as a reversible second front, so the finished quilt reads differently depending on which side is up.
